Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)

Optiva fully supports Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) for both SQL Server and Oracle. TDE protects data at rest. TDE renders a stolen copy of the database useless without the database encryption key and certificates from the original database server instance. Customers who turn on TDE for a database will notice a modest rise in the demand for CPU resources on the database server. This could result in a modest slowdown in the performance of Optiva.
