System Information

The System Information function in PLM Process CE Authentication is identical to the one in PLM Process Authentication. You can use this tool to configure and troubleshoot Optiva.

System Information is the only function in PLM Process CE Authentication that is not directly related to the main task of the application. This table describes some of the components.

Component Description
PLM Process Server (FsSvcCore) Includes the Web.config section which lists all of the appSettings keys and values. The administrator can see the TRACEVERBOSE and TRACEFILE values without accessing the Web.config file directly and the administrator can check the cloud configurations.
PLM Process web client (FsOptivaWeb) Includes the Web.config section with an appSettings section and a section that lists the URLs for the FsSvcCore web services. There are other sections that are used exclusively in cloud or IFS configurations.
PLM Process Configuration (FsOptivaConfig) This section pertains to the PLM Process Configuration application. For this application, the LocalSystem is the default value for Process Model Identity. (The default value is not NetworkService.)

A warning is displayed if anything other than LocalSystem is used for PLM Process Configuration.

PLM Process Configuration requires the highest level of access to perform some of its tasks. Some tasks require changes to the configurations of other web-based applications running on the same server.

Oracle This section includes a list of data sources, not connections. This is useful in determining which data sources effectively are in use.

Data sources can be defined in three locations:

  • Web.config file
  • tnsnames.ora file, as referenced by the Web.config file
  • tnsnames.ora file that is local to the Web.config file.

The report shows the data sources from any of these locations that are in use. Any duplicate entries that are found in lower-priority locations are omitted.
