Comparing features
The table compares the features between PLM Process Configuration and PLM Process Database Configuration.
- For PLM Process Configuration, you can only select an existing, active Oracle data source.
- For PLM Process Database Configuration, you can enter any Oracle data source, even if the name is invalid.
Ensure that Oracle data sources have been configured correctly before you use PLM Process Configuration to edit the Oracle data connections. Neither application enables you to edit the configuration of the Oracle data source; this must still be done manually by editing FsSvcCore/Web.config.

The features in PLM Process Configuration and PLM Process Authentication are similar. The differences are:
- Only PLM Process Authentication enables you to apply an AD FS authentication profile without the use of Infor Federation Services.
- Only PLM Process Configuration enables you to download
the configuration file for a given PLM Process application. This assumes that you are
running Optiva Authentication; you can access the file from Windows Explorer.

In PLM Process CE Authentication, you can save certificate- and metadata files that may be found in property files. In PLM Process Configuration, you can download the configuration file for a given Optiva application. This assumes that you are running PLM Process Authentication; you can access the file from Windows Explorer.
