What are stage gate action sets?

A stage gate action set is a collection of actions grouped together in a specific order to complete a workflow. Actions can occur independently or alongside others. For example, if several users must approve a new project, the actions can occur simultaneously. The dependency of one action on another can be specified in addition to the order of actions.

Actions can occur within other actions. As shown in this example, an action can represent a stage in a process and other actions within it represent sub-tasks.

An action cannot start until its parent starts.
