Replacing ingredients

Using the Ingredient Replace form, you can replace a single ingredient (i.e., item or formula) across multiple formulas.

You can replace ingredients for various reasons.

• The ingredient has been discontinued.
• A less expensive ingredient is available.
• A conflict exists between the ingredient and regulatory guidelines.

You can create new formulas with the replaced ingredients or overwrite existing formulas. Rules determine the characteristics of the new formulas. They can add status and other custom information to old and new versions.
