Beginning the workflow

There may be some requirements for completing the workflow after it is begun. If you do not see any action sets in the lookup, the type of object that you opened is not configured for workflows. Or, security prevents you from seeing them.

You can begin a workflow from these places.

  • from an Object Toolbar

    Open the Optiva object and click Launch Workflow in the toolbar. The object is saved by Optiva upon starting a workflow.

  • from a Reference

    Open the Optiva object and click Launch Workflow for one or more references. Each object has a separate Work ID. The object is saved by Optiva upon starting a workflow.

  • from a Search

    Run a search. Select objects in the search results. Launch the workflow and select a workflow code to apply to all objects. Each object has a separate Work ID.

  • from a Custom Button

    You can add buttons to Optiva forms. Clicking a button launches a workflow action or action set.

  • from a Report or View

    Select a report or view that launches a workflow.
