Assigning rounding rules to the parameters
After the rounding rules have been defined, they are required to be assigned to parameters according to the rounding requirements of the parameter. For example, different nutrients have different rounding rules due to their properties and to the requirements of the regulatory agencies.
Use the Parameter Value Rounding form to assign rounding rules to parameters.
Round up or down to the nearest specified integer. For example, if the value is 32.5 and the rule rounds to the nearest 10, it can round up to 40 or down to 30.
You can round up an undesirable nutrient, such as FAT, so there is no risk if the actual value is less than what is claimed. Round down for a desirable nutrient to ensure there is no risk if the amount is more than claimed.
DEFAULT
rounds the value according to the validation for
the parameter, which uses basic math conventions for rounding. Override the default
value to always force UP or DOWN regardless of the rule constraints.
