Customizing field labels, tooltips, and captions
In the Field Label form, you can complete these tasks:
- Rename the standard field labels for each Optiva object.
- View and edit the labels for your extension fields.
- Create your own tooltips for the standard and extension fields.
- Customize the captions for Grid Captions (the G.codes).
Field labels identify the names of screen elements in Optiva. Some examples of screen elements include text fields, drop-lists, and check boxes.
Captions are the column headings that are displayed in the Optiva grids. The tooltip columns in the Field
Label form are not relevant for captions. Consequently, those columns are not
displayed for the objects that contain the G.
prefix.
This table describes the fields in the Field Label form.
See Example 1 – Customizing the field labels by object and Example 2 – Customizing the grid captions.
