Rules for percent daily value
The rules for percent daily value are defined in the Daily Value Rule form. The percent daily value is the percentage of a nutrient in a serving size. This percentage is relative to the recommended daily allowance for the defined population according to a regulatory body. After you have the mass of nutrient and serving in a product, you use the percent daily value to calculate the recommended daily allowance.
The Daily Value is used to calculate the percent daily value, which is information required to be on the nutrition fact panel of a product.
