Constituents

Constituents are ingredients of formulas that are linked to raw materials (i.e., component type 8). Ingredient and parameter data is supplied by a vendor. Constituents can be rolled up to the item through an equation that is configured by the administrator. In this way, they can be included in ingredient statements, MSDS breakdown, guideline checks and reports.

In this example, wheat flour is stored as a raw material item. The ingredient data is supplied by the vendor. Parameter data, such as thiamin, is also supplied by the vendor. The parameter data is rolled up to the item through an equation that is configured by the Optiva administrator.

As shown here, a raw material (flour) can have only one constituent formula.
