Defining Actions for the business process

You must first divide the process into actions. An action is a group of tasks that a user performs at a step in a workflow. Each action is performed by one user at one point in time.

One user can perform several tasks in a single workflow. If those tasks are interrupted by other actions processed by other users, then the tasks are broken into separate actions.

The chart shows an example of the breakdown of a workflow process, Approve New Formula. The Approve, Update, and Notify actions can be separate if they are performed by different users. Or, the Update and Notify tasks can be combined into one action and executed automatically.
