Splitting ingredients

Sometimes an ingredient should be positioned in more than one place in a formula. For example, an ingredient can be added before and after a process.

In the Formula form, you can select a ingredient and split it into two parts, dividing the quantity in any proportion. After the ingredient is split, there is no relationship between the two portions; they are completely independent of each other.

To split an ingredient, use the Functions menu.

  1. Open the Formula form.
  2. Select one row in the Item Lines tab.
  3. Select Functions > Split Line. In this example, the ingredient originally had a quantity of 45. Now, the quantities are 35 and 10.

The system administrator should use the Formula.Integer_UOM profile attribute to round off unit of measures that result from splitting packaging ingredients.
