Specifying a source for parameter values
The data for an item’s parameter can come from different sources. For example, it can come from another item, vendor’s specification, or formula.
Because data from some sources is more reliable and accurate than from other sources, it is important to track the source.
In Optiva, the source can be specified as part of the data. Users can change the parameter values for an item to those of a source object. Then, they can store the source object ID as part of the item data.
The source data rolls up to the formula level where it is available for label generation.
