12.1.4 upgrade considerations for Quick Search
The Quick Search Setup form cannot be used for any other purpose. You cannot create quick searches, nor modify and execute your historical objects in this form.
form is used only to migrate historical objects. These objects are any quick search objects that you created before 12.1.4. TheThe lookup set, QUICKSEARCHEX
, was created for the upgraded Quick Search
objects. If you add custom lookups to this lookup set, the corresponding lookup queries must
return the SYMBOL_CODE
column from FSSEARCH
. For syntax
examples, see other queries in that lookup set.
Migrating the historical objects
- Open the form.
- Review each historical object. You should only migrate the ones that you intend to use.
- Click . A new search object is created for you with the same naming convention. The migrate button is no longer displayed in the form.
Viewing the newly migrated object
- Select the appropriate Search symbol from the Search Formula. menu. For example, if you migrated a Formula Quick Search, select
- Select your newly migrated object from the Lookup. In the Search <Object> form, the Quick Search Enabled box is selected and your quick search criteria is displayed. Now, users can execute this search from the form.
Deleting a migrated object
What happens if you click Search <object> form immediately after you migrate the object? You are prompted to confirm the deletion of the object.
in theIn this scenario, you can return to the Quick Search Setup form and redisplay the historical object. The toolbar button is displayed to give you another opportunity to migrate the historical object.
If you decide to migrate the historical object, click the button again. Confirm that you want to overwrite the logically deleted object with the same code.
Modifying the search criteria for migrated objects
After you migrate the historical objects, you can modify them in the Search <object> forms. Users can execute these searches from the Quick Search form.
