Overview

The new PLM for Process Trade Item and Trade Item Template forms provide tools that support the creation and preparation of GTIN (Global Trade Item Numbers) for the GS1 GDSN Global Data Synchronization Network and integration to data pool service providers.

GS1 has historically been a manual process and most organization have varying methods for managing their GTIN creation and data. The PLM for Process forms enable users to consolidate, standardize and version control the information in the GS1 GDSN process. Trade Item Templates enable customers to define a variety of data sourcing formats for the creation of GTINs at multiple levels and differing source data requirements.

Now with standard PLM for Process tools, teams may now generate Trade Items Codes and Versions for GTINs and automate the creation, sourcing and refreshment of data. Business processes for the review and approval and export of data to Data Pools via workflows ensures accuracy and consistency of tasks.

Future development of Search Tools will provide customers with easy methods for tracking changes to Trade Item data over time and Save As to new GTIN to expedite change.
