Viewing the load for each user

In the Assign Users to Task page, the primary user is always assigned a load of 100% by the system. Other users are assigned load percentages by the project manager.

When you click Show Load, the total load for the corresponding user is displayed in the Total Load tab. These results are for the date range that corresponds to the current task.

The project manager can see this information:

  • The dates that encompass the task.
  • The percentage of time that the user is allocated to the task for each date.
  • The percentage of time that the user is allocated to other tasks that fall within the date range of the current task.

If the summary row in the Total Load grid exceeds 100%, then the user is overloaded for that date.

Shop calendars are used to determine the workdays and non-workdays for each user. See the Infor PLM for Process Application Configuration Guide to learn more about shop calendars.

Example

In this example, the primary user is assigned to too many tasks within the time period of the current task. The summary row, in the Total Load tab, shows that the user is overloaded on 10/10 and 10/11.

For these dates, the total percentage is 420%. No percentage of time is allocated on 10/9. The user is not working that day.

To offset the workload for the primary user, the project manager must assign additional resources to Task 1.2 for Action WIP ID 3323. In the Assign Users To Task page, the project manager can assign as many resources as necessary to the task.
