Nutrition values
One of the primary types of analyses is the derivation of recommended nutrition label values to be used on a product label. These values are obtained through the statistical analysis of data from testing actual samples of formulas. In addition, nutrition label values can also be obtained starting from theoretical formula rollup data.
In either case, the analysis begins with the raw parameter values and a series of rules and calculations. These rules and calculations are applied to the parameter values to generate processed data for the nutrition fact panel of a product. Typically, processed data is the nutrition per serving data in the % daily value. The % daily value is a percentage of the recommended daily allowance of that nutrient as specified by the government.
