Process for configuring symbols
Configure symbols after you have defined labs. Configuring symbols modifies and extends the behavior of the symbol. For example, you can define an extension field to show on the Formula form. This configuration is optional. Optiva can operate without configuring the symbols.
Here are some examples of extended functionality:
- To enable users to launch a workflow for specific symbols, such as formulas and items
- To define the type of document attachments, such as a safety warning or procedure
- To define sets to classify an object, such as types of products
- To define extension fields to store information that is appropriate to your business practices.
- To define status and approval codes for the symbols
This table summarizes the process for configuring symbols.
