Configuration

  1. In this example, the TESTCOST1 parameter has:
    • A base unit of measure of US Dollar. This is defined in the UOM Extend column.
    • A per unit of measure of kilograms.
    • Two alternate units of measure, Yen and UK Pound Sterling, are assigned to the parameter in the Alternate Units tab.
    • The Per UOM column is an optional entry. It is used along with the UOM Extend column to calculate the Ratio.
  2. Ensure that you assign the parameter to a lab.
  3. Assign the parameter to a filter. You can leave the Global Filter check box blank.

The choices in the Display UM list are the same as the alternate units of measure that you defined for the parameter in the Parameter > Alternate Units tab. For this example, select Yen for the filter’s Display UM.

  4. Configure the TECHPARAM.CONVERTALTUOM profile attribute. This profile attribute determines which units of measure are displayed in the object’s Parameters tab.
