Assigning tasks

You must assign each task to a user, group, or role. If the action set is performed across many groups in your organization, do not assign users in the action set. This keeps the action set generic and reusable.

When users launch a workflow, they can assign or reassign users, groups or roles to actions in the Launch Workflow page. If users assign a task to a user, only that user can complete that task.

Another user, with the same role and with security permissions, can assume responsibility for that task. The user can select a filter to view another user’s tasks and complete the assignments.

If a task is assigned to a group or a role, the task is displayed in several users’ queue of tasks. When one user completes the task, that task is removed from everyone’s queue.
