Quick Calc for formulas
You can use the Quick Calc Parameters grid, in the Formula form, to specify a subset of parameters. When you make a change to an item in a formula, you can see the effects of that change on those parameters immediately.
You can also use the Parameters grid to perform a Quick Calc. After performing a Quick Calc, the Quick Calc Parameters grid is displayed in place of the Parameters grid.
For each parameter that is listed in the Quick Calc Parameters grid, you can see these values: Before, After, Delta, Min, Max, and UOM.
The number of decimal positions that are displayed for these column values (Before, After, Delta) can vary by parameter. The Format Code, in the Parameter form, controls this formatting.
This table shows a description of the columns in the Quick Calc Parameters grid:
Column Label | Description |
---|---|
Before | Shows the original value for the parameter. When you save the formula, this value is reset to the new value. |
After | Shows the parameter value, incorporating the most recent changes to the Item Lines grid. |
Delta | Shows the difference between the Before and After column values. |
Min and Max |
Information only. These fields show the minimum and maximum range for the parameters, if those ranges are specified in the Formula > Parameter tab. |
UOM | Shows the unit of measure for the parameter. (This is the UOM Extend value that is defined in the Parameters form.) If there is a per unit of measure, then the forward slash (“/”) is displayed along with the description of the per UOM. |
