Adding item and formula parameters
You add parameters to the lab in the Parameters tab of the Lab form.
Parameters are displayed in object forms in the order in which they are added to a lab. They can be sorted alphabetically by clicking the column heading or through a filter.
Choose a filter and add DENSITY
as the first parameter. Then continue to add parameters.
This table summarizes the values for the drop-lists.
Screen Element | Value | Description |
---|---|---|
Override | Allowed | Users can override a calculated value at the formula level. |
Override | Prohibited | Users cannot override a calculated value at the formula level. |
Source | All Ingred Only |
This column determines how the values for
rollup parameters and calculated parameters are derived in the Formula form by Lab. All - The parameter values of the by-products are used to decrement the total values that are calculated for the ingredients. The parameters on a formula are always calculated based on the yield of the formula. Ingred Only – The values for the rollup parameters and the calculated parameters are always based upon the ingredients in the tab. Items on the Byproducts tab do not affect the parameter value. |
Suppose a user logs into the lab and creates a new item or formula. The parameters that are assigned to the Parameters tab of the Lab are included. The parameter filter or set template can reduce the parameters.

Weight%, volume% and cost parameters can also be added. Those parameters can be used to adjust formulas to a parameter value.
See Adding adjust parameters for labs.
Packaging parameters should be added to the lab as a Cost type. That way, the parameters can be rolled up.
