Test - field descriptions
Overview
A test defines the method for evaluating properties of a formula or item. It can reference a standard external protocol, such as the American Society for Testing and Materials, (ASTM) or U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP).
- Capability (instrumentation precision, test reproducibility, or repeatability)
- Duration of the test
- Conditions required for running the test
- Parameters to be measured in the results
- Intervals to run the test
Main tab
- Approval
- Select a code that describes the type of approval.
- Capability 1- 3
-
Enter a numerical value. This field provides additional information, such as the percentage of instrumentation precision, test reproducibility, or repeatability.
- Class
- Select a class from the list.
- Code Type
-
When the code type is Parameter Test, the Conditions, Parameters and Interval tabs are enabled.
When the code type is Global Test, the Conditions, Parameters and Interval tabs are disabled.
- Duration
- Enter the total number of days for the test cycle.
- Hold
-
Select a code that describes the reason for stopping use of an object.
- Reference Method
-
Enter the standard for the test method, such as FCC, CTFA, ASTM, etc.
- Tolerance
- Enter the statistical tolerance of the test.
Security tab
This tab identifies who can access the object and the types of access privileges that are granted for the Owner, Group, and Role.
The Optiva administrator configures the default security for all objects of this type. You can specify the security for a specific object here. For example, you can assign the Owner full privileges (Read/Copy/Write/Delete), but partial or no access privileges to the Role and Group.
Context tab
- Manufacturing and selling locations
- Brand name
- Type of product
- Product usage
- End users of the product
The context data values that are available for selection are configured by your Optiva administrator.
Although you are not required to enter data in this tab, it is useful for performing searches and for running reports.
Classification tab
You can assign set(s) to Optiva objects. The values that are available for selection are configured by your Optiva administrator.
Sets are a useful method for categorizing your objects and for filtering data when performing lookups and searches. For example, food manufacturers can have separate classifications (set codes) for Baked Goods, Fast Food, Frozen Food, and so forth.
By default, objects are only shown in the lab in which they were created.
Once you assign sets to an object, those objects can be seen by users in other labs.
To hide objects from other labs, do not assign them to a set.
Conditions tab
Use this tab to specify parameters for the test itself. The tester will enter values for the conditions when the test is run.
- Attribute
-
Shows the attribute value from the Conditions tab on the Test form.
- Condition Code
- Specify a parameter for the test condition.
- Display Columns
- Select one of the choices from the list:
- Permissible and Actual
- Actual Only
- Permissible Only
- Permissible Value(s)
-
Enter the values that the tester should use when the test is run.
- Sequence
-
Enter the order in which the conditions will appear in the Test Results page.
Interval tab
Use this tab to specify the number of times to run the test and the amount of time between each test run. You can click Start and End Dates.
to see the intervals for each parameter, including the
