Configuring secured lookups
For some symbols, you can configure lookups to show only objects that a user has authorization to view. By default, Optiva shows both secured and non-secured lookups for codes and descriptions and non-secured lookups only for sets. Non-secured lookups for code, description and sets show all of the objects including those that the current user has no authorization to view.
When a user selects an object in a non-secured lookup and the user is not authorized to view the object, a message displays. The object is not opened.
You do not have the appropriate permission to perform this operation. Please see your Administrator for more information
When a user selects a secured lookup, they do not see objects that do
not allow viewing. For example
EX-001\0001
is not shown in this example.
The lookup by sets is unsecured by default. Sets show secure objects by default. If a user selects a secure object from the lookup, an error message is displayed and the object does not open.
See Secure lookups.
