Role of the Density parameter

The DENSITY parameter is delivered with Optiva.

All formulation relies on the mass of an ingredient as the foundation for all calculations. The only exception is for packaging where discrete items are used.

A user can specify a quantity in a standard volume unit like gallons or liters. When this happens, Optiva uses the DENSITY parameter to convert the volume into a mass.

DENSITY is the ratio of mass to volume for each ingredient. It is also used to calculate the standard volume of each ingredient in the formula.
