Defining the alternate UOM for a parameter

  1. Open the Parameter form.
  2. Define the base unit of measure for a parameter. The UOM Extend field is the base unit of measure for the parameter. Parameters that are used for alternate units of measure must be non-string types. Do not select UOM type 9 - UOM Conversion Factor for alternate units of measure.
  3. Use the validation fields to define the validation for the parameter values. This is based on the base unit of measure.
  4. Assign one or more alternate units of measure to this parameter.
    Description
This value is from the UOM form for the base UOM.
    Equation Code From
Retrieved by Optiva based on the conversion factor to the base UOM.
    Format Mask
Format can differ for different UOMs.
    Minimum/Maximum
Multiplied by the ratio. Values are converted by Optiva if conversion factors are defined for any combination of UOMs. Conversion factors are specified on the UOM form.
    Ratio
Values are converted by Optiva if conversion factors are defined for any combination of UOMs. Conversion factors are specified on the UOM form.

You can use equations if there is no conversion factor for the UOMs. This is an example for an alternate temperature parameter.
