Categories of parameters
In Optiva, the Rollup, Cost, and Equation Total parameters are calculated by Optiva. Information parameters are entered by users, not calculated by Optiva. This table shows a description of each category:
Category | Description |
---|---|
Rollup | When items are assigned to a formula, the
rollup parameter values that are assigned to the items are rolled up into the
parent formulas. The rollup parameter values are scaled linearly according to
the quantity of the item. The rollup parameter values are also combined with
the values of other items with the same parameters.
For example, items with different concentrations of calcium are added to a formula. The formula’s calcium concentration is a combination of the calcium concentrations in the items, weighted by their relative amounts in the formula. Some Rollup parameters do not scale linearly. For example, the Restricted parameter is set to one (1) for a restricted item and zero (0) for unrestricted. If any of the items in a formula are restricted, then the formula is restricted. |
Information | Information parameters are not scaled up in formulas. For example, the boiling point of an item is not combined with the boiling points of other items in a formula. |
Cost | Cost parameters are associated with the
formula production cost. They function like Rollup parameters, but are
separated from Rollup parameters due to byproduct calculations.
Cost values are scaled up linearly as items are combined in a formula. |
Equation Total | Equation total parameters are equation-based parameters that are calculated from other parameters. They are viewed for formulas, but not for items. The system administrator configures the equations to calculate Equation Total parameters. |
See the Infor PLM for Process Application Configuration Guide for more information about parameters.
