Labs

  • Global Calc applies to all formulas, regardless of the lab. Any formulas that are calculated during this process may be assigned the set for the lab upon a save, depending on the value of profile attribute AUTOADDLAB. For example, if AUTOADDLAB = 2 and a formula is created in LAB1 and calculated by the Global Calc process ran by LAB2, then this formula be assigned set = LAB2 when the formula is saved in LAB2.
  • When Where Used is not checked, only the formulas returned by the search are in the results and not the formulas that contain them.
  • The Where Used option shows all formulas in all labs, if any exist.
  • More than one Global Calc job can be run at a time if there are two different Global Calc codes for two different labs.

Segmenting parameters into separate labs

Calculation occurs only for parameters that are assigned to the current lab. One way to reduce the number of parameters that are calculated is to create separate labs for specific parameters. For example, you can create a separate Cost lab with only cost-type parameters. If the calculation is run for this lab, then only cost parameters are calculated.

There is a view on the Reports tab that shows parameters that have been calculated; and a view that shows the parameters that have not been calculated because they were not in the job scope.
