Message codes

Error messages are displayed when users try to perform an action that is not allowed in Optiva. For example, they enter an incorrect value for a parameter.

Informational messages are displayed to communicate results of user actions, such as confirmation that data has been saved.

Both types of messages are classified as message codes. You can customize existing messages or create new ones.

  1. Open the Message Code form.
  2. Specify this information:
    Index

Each message must have a unique index. Otherwise, the message is not saved. For a new message, start above 100,000.

    Error Type
Specify the type of error. An informational message informs the user of a condition occurring in Optiva. An error message reports a situation the user has to address to continue using Optiva.
    Language
    Specify a language code.
    Text
Specify the text for the message in the appropriate language.
  3. Click Save.
