Validating the stage date
Bulk Data Loader validates that the data provided in the staging table meets the type and
range criteria specified in the Optiva configuration.
Validation messages are numbered and displayed in the Validation Report tab.
User can also see the validation messages based on the filter in the Update BDL Data tab. Users can modify and update the error values into stage table in this tab.
Validation Examples
- There are no duplicate rows.
- All coded fields such as UOMs, Parameter Code and Parent Code are configured in the database.
- All enumerated list fields have appropriate values in the supporting enumeration list.
- Range-driven data falls within the configured ranges.
- Data matches the specified data type. For example, parameters defined as Numeric do not have character values.
- Reference type data validation.
Bulk Data Loader ensures integrity of data by:
- Loading the Header data before detail data.
- Loading the Header data for referenced objects before references to those objects.
Note: When validation errors occur, it is best practice
to update large or repetitive errors on the templates and re-upload then validate. This
maintains the data source integrity for historical records.
