Original security is used for saved objects

When you copy an object, such as a formula or item, you can change the security for that object. The changes that you can make are based on the original security for the object.

For example, the original security for the formula is:

  • OWNER = FSI = 0
  • GROUP = FORMULATION = 15
  • ROLE = 0

The formula is copied. Another member of the FORMULATION group opens the formula. This new user is not the owner of the formula. This user can change the OWNER security for the formula because the GROUP security allows it.

  • OWNER = FSI = 15
  • GROUP = FORMULATION = 7
  • ROLE = 0

The original security is used for a security check when a change is made.
