Adding attachments and uploading them to IDM

You can add one attachment to an Optiva object; or you can add multiple attachments and upload the attachments to IDM in one step. For example, you can add image files and PDF files.

  1. Open an Optiva object.
  2. Click the Attachments tab.
  3. Select an IDM document type from the Function Code list.
  4. Click Add Row. Then, complete the required fields in the Attachments grid. The fields can vary by document type.
  5. Click the Attach icon to open the Attach Document dialog.
    1. Click Browse to find and select the file that you want to attach. Select multiple files using the mouse click along with the Ctrl or Shift key.
    2. Click OK. A RESTAPI call is initiated that sends the attachment(s) directly to IDM. You do not have to click Save.
      When you add more than one file in one step, separate rows are added to the Attachments grid for each file. The values that you entered for the grid row, before selecting the files, are copied to the new rows. The Title is not copied. In this example, the Expiry Date and Access List values that you entered for the first row are copied to the second row. The Title is not copied.

      You can click the File Name links to open the attachments. You can hover your mouse over the thumbnail to see the image.
