Overview of common usage of the user interface

Optiva has the same user interface as other Infor products.

Here are some common usage conventions for grids:

  • When you place the cursor on a cell, the cell changes to edit mode.
  • Changes to layout are saved between sessions for the same user.
  • When you add a new row, there is an indicator that remains until you save.

  • If you change a row after it has been saved, there is an indicator until you save.

  • Select an object from the Lookup button inside an editable field. View an object using the link icon beside the field. As an alternative to the Lookup button, you can use the autocomplete feature. See Using auto complete instead of the Lookup.

  • The Pending Tasks grid and the Reports grid contain the Pagination control. This control configures the number of records per page to view.

  • If an invalid entry is made to a field, the field is highlighted and an exclamation icon is displayed inside the field. The icon is also displayed at the beginning of any rows in error. To see the error message text, hover your mouse over the icons.
