Adding parameters to both the lab and the filter

Parameters must be in the lab in addition to being in the filter. Otherwise, they are not displayed even when the filter is selected.

The reason for this is that you can reuse a single filter for many parameters. The filter does not have to be specific to the parameters in each lab. If the lab contains the parameter, then the filter applies to the parameter. If the lab does not contain the parameter, then the parameter in the filter is ignored.

You can delete the parameter from a lab. To delete it from a filter, you must delete it from the filter too. To delete a parameter from the database, remove it from all labs and filters first.

In this example, the Caffeine parameter is not in the lab. It is in a filter. Consequently, the parameter is not displayed in the object.

To remove a parameter from a lab, you must manually delete it from the filter through the Filter form. It is not removed automatically.

If the filter enables additional access to a parameter, then the additional access is in effect, even if the filter is not selected.
