Viewing the search results

You can view the results of a search in the Search <Object> > Search Results tab.

The search results are shown in a Summary view and a Detailed view. All of the records that meet the search criteria are displayed in these views.

If you have privilege to the objects that are shown in the search results, you can navigate to them by clicking the links. If you do not have privilege to the objects, you cannot drill-down to them.

The system administrator can configure a Pivot view. The Pivot view is ideal for combining the search results for a single object into one row. Suppose you search for items that have Cholesterol, Sodium, and Iron. You can have three separate rows in the Summary and Detail search results for each item. There would be one row for Cholesterol, one row for Sodium, and one row for Iron.

In a Pivot view, the results can be consolidated into one row by adding three columns to the view: one column for Cholesterol, one column for Sodium, and one column for Iron.
