Default records are the basis for new objects

You, the Optiva administrator, maintain the default records. A default record looks like any other object in its native form. It must include a description, status and security settings. It can include other information, such as fields that are displayed in the form, context information, notes and attachments.

See Default records.

When users generate a new object, any information that is contained in the default record is copied into the new object:

  • All information that is contained in the form, including references, notes and attachments
  • Set classification
  • Context information
  • Status information
  • Security settings

You decide what information belongs in the default record.
