Associating a default UOM with a UOM type

Each UOM type has a default unit of measure that is used as a basis for conversion of other like-UOMs.

Description

Specify a description or long name for the UOM type.

Type Code

When you create the type, specify a short name for the UOM type. This can match the conversion type. In the web client, this is the name of the type that you are creating.

UOM

Select a default value for the conversion type. This is the basis for conversion to other UOMs of the same type. For example, any Mass type UOM can be converted to kilograms.
