Conventions for the Include Context column

You can deselect the categories that you want to exclude from the guideline check. You must select at least one context check box, even if there are no attribute values. If all are deselected, nothing is returned.

Context Criteria (Selling location, Mfg. Location, Brand, Product Type, End Use, End Users)

PLM for Process retrieves the Company values (Customer, Vendor, Testing, Manufacturer and Other) from the Reference tab and populates into the Formula Guideline context. The Formula context also supports Manufacturing Location, Selling Location, Product Type, Brand, End Use and End User.

You can also use the Context grid to select additional context values. This provides a method for a developer to check how a formula might do with new context. For example, you can see how a formula produced for the US market complies with a new market in China or Australia. This provides the developer some guidance on how to re-formulate for the new market.

When Limit Results to Guideline with Explicitly Defined Context Attributes is not checked:

  • Return guidelines that pass each of the Context Type criteria with Include Context check box selected. Match All is sufficient as a match.
  • If all Context Types are not selected and Include Context check box is not selected, no guidelines will be returned.
  • For a Context Type: If Include Context Include check box is not selected, the values in the Context Attributes column are ignored as criteria to return the guideline.
  • For a Context Type: If Include Context check box is selected and there are no values in the Context Attributes column, guidelines with any values for that Context Type will be returned. This means the context values in the guideline are ignored as criteria to return the guideline.
  • For a Context Type: If Include Context check box is selected and there are multiple values in the Context Attributes column, guidelines that pass the criteria for any of these values or have the value of Match All for that Context Type will be returned.
  • If there are multiple Context Types with Include Context check box selected with values in the Context Attributes column, only those guidelines that pass the criteria for each of these Context Types will be returned.
