Setting up child ingredient statements

A manufactured item is necessary for child ingredient statements. In this example, MILK CHOCOLATE\0001 is the master formula for the Milk Chocolate item.

  1. Create the MILK CHOCOLATE\0001 formula.
    1. Specify Milk Chocolate for the Mfg Item. Milk Chocolate is a Material item. (Material items are a Component Type 1.) Then, check the Master Formula box.
    2. Add Cocoa Butter, Lactose, and Sugar to the Item Lines tab. These items are Raw Material items. (Raw Material items are a Component Type 8.)
  2. Create the Milk Chocolate ingredient statement and assign an ingredient statement rule. For this example, use the @DFLT rule.
  3. Leave the Show Section Titles and Show Status boxes blank. This makes the final label look nicer.
  4. Add the Milk Chocolate\0001 formula to the Formulas tab.
  5. Click Apply Rules.
  6. Click Save Preview. If prompted for a Function code or other attributes, follow the prompts to complete the workflow step.

The function code stores the statement text in the database. That statement text becomes part of another ingredient statement (i.e., the statement that calls this child ingredient statement).

You can generate the statement text in different languages.
