Assigning set codes

You can assign set codes in the Extension Table Definition form. Set Codes are optional. They restrict the list of extension tables that are displayed in the object's Extension Tables tab. The Filter list in the Extension Tables tab shows only the extension table definitions that have the same set codes as the set codes that are defined for the object itself.

For example, if the extension table definition has a set code called ADDITIVES, then the object must have the same set code. Otherwise, the extension table definition is not displayed in the object's filter list.

Suppose set codes are omitted from the Extension Table Definition form for a extension table; then that table is displayed for all set codes on the business object.

What is the set code in the extension table definition? What is the set code in the object form? Is the extension table shown in the object filter list?
ADDITIVES ADDITIVES Yes
ADDITIVES SNACKS No
No set codes Any set code Yes

What if users cannot see the extension table in the object filter list; and the set codes are identical between the Extension Table Definition form and the object form? Then it is because the user has no access privileges to the extension table.

Privileging and set codes Object filter list
Privilege = No access

Extension Table Set Code = ADDITIVES

Object Set Code = ADDITIVES

The extension table is not displayed.
