Sets and subsets

If you have many sets, then you can categorize them into subsets. This reduces the size of the list in the Lookup dialog. The period “.” is the punctuation mark that is used to separate the set code and the subset.

For example, regulation items (FDA, CTFA, USDA) can be prefixed by REG.:

  • REG.FDA
  • REG.USDA

Packaged goods sets (cans, lids, bottles, labels) can be prefixed by PKG.:

  • PKG.LIDS
  • PKG.CANS

Food sets such as:

  • BAKERY.BREAD
  • BAKERY.CAKES
  • FAST_FOOD.HAMBURGERS
  • FAST_FOOD.PIZZA
