Defining ratios for primary and alternate ingredients
You can replace primary ingredients with the ratios of alternate ingredients. The Alternate # column in the Formula > Item Lines grid shows that alternate ingredients exist for an item. This number links primary and alternate ingredients together.
Alternate ingredients are grouped by hundreds (101-199 for one primary ingredient, 201-299 for another primary ingredient). Integers between 100 and 9900 show that the item supports alternates.
This table shows an example:
| Ratio | Primary | Primary Number | Alternates | Alternate Number |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| one to one | orange juice A | 100 | orange juice B | 101 |
| one to many |
				                  orange juice C molasses  |
                  102 | ||
| many to one | citric acid
				   water  |
                  200 | citric acid | 201 |
| many to many | corn syrup 50%
				   buttermilk  |
                  300 |  corn syrup 60%
				   canned milk  |
                  301 |
The Primary ingredients are shown in the Formula > Item Lines grid. The alternate ingredients are displayed in the Alternate Ingredient dialog.
This diagram shows a single-to-single (one-to-one) ratio between a primary and alternate ingredient.
