Filtering derived fields

In Optiva, you can reduce the possible choices for a dependent field. This example provides the shades of color for blue.

  • (color) BLUE

    • (shade) GREEN-BLUE

      (sub-shade) TEAL

      (sub-shade) AQUA

    • (shade) DARK-BLUE

      (sub-shade) SLATE

      (sub-shade) NAVY

Primary field controls the values in a dependent field according to a pre-defined association. Values are entered manually in the primary field.

Dependent field derives its values from values in a primary field. Optiva presents a pre-defined filtered subset of values from an enumerated list in this field.
