Assigning parameters

You can assign parameters and parameter values to the specification.

  1. Open the Specification form.
  2. Click the Parameters tab.
  3. Specify this criteria.
    <Attribute>
The names of these columns can be customized by the system administrator.
The choices that are available for selection are defined in the Enumerated Lists form. For Attribute columns 1 and 2, the enumerated lists are C_SPECPARAMATT1 and C_SPECPARAMATT2 respectively.
    Comment
    Enter free-hand text.
    Filter
Select a filter to limit the parameters that are displayed. For example, you can select Rollup to show only the parameters that are assigned to the Rollup category.
    • No Filter shows all of the parameters; a filter is not applied to the form.
    • The SPECIFICATION.NOFILTER profile can be configured to hide the No Filter choice.
    Parameter
Select a filter to shorten the list of parameter names that are displayed in this column. You can also append rows and use the Lookup to assign additional parameters.
    Type Indicator
Indicate the importance of the parameter to the specification’s objective. The choices are:
    • Required - The parameter must be within the specified range.
    • Best Effort - The parameter should be close to the range.
    • Informational - The parameter does not have to be within the range.
    Min/Target/Max

Use these columns to assign a numeric value to the parameter. You can enter:

    • A minimum value or a maximum value.
    • A range of values (i.e., both a minimum and maximum value).
    • Specific value (i.e., target value).
    Test Method
Informational only. If you have implemented the Optiva Testing module, select the configured test method that is used to validate the parameter.
