Rolling up a single formula

When you create a formula, the Calculate button retrieves the original parameter values that are assigned in the item. The original parameter values are adjusted according to the item’s proportions in the formula and assigns the resulting values to the formula’s parameters.

If a formula includes sub-formulas, Calculate brings in parameter values for the sub-formulas and adjusts them according to the quantity in the parent formula.

Calculate brings in parameter values from ingredients in the current formula.

You must calculate all formulas in a hierarchy to ensure that the calculation at the top-level formula is correct. If you have several levels in your formula hierarchy, use the Calculate All button to ensure you are getting the latest values for all sub-formulas.
