Previewing chart types

To preview a chart type before selecting the one you want:

Nota:  Before you can preview any chart, you must first create the initialized chart, save it, and then save, close, and reopen the form on which the chart is to appear. Any changes you make to your chart settings after that can be previewed using this procedure.  
  1. In Design Mode, and with the Specify Chart Settings dialog box open for the chart component, select the Data tab.
  2. Optionally, use the Chart Style field to change whether you want to preview a single series chart, a multi-series chart, or a combination chart.
  3. In the Chart Type field, specify the type of chart you want to preview.
  4. Optionally, make other settings on this or other tabs.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click-and-drag (using the title bar of) the Specify Chart Settings dialog box, moving it so that you can see the chart component on the form.
