Voucher Adjustment Distribution

Use this form to specify how to distribute transactions to multiple G/L accounts.

You can distribute to the G/L accounts, using two methods:

  • Manually enter the distribution by adding records.
  • Select Actions > Distribution Generation to automatically generate the distribution records. This option uses the G/L accounts that are set up on the Accounts Payable Parameters form and in the tax files.

Use the tax fields to record the detailed tax records that are associated with the voucher and appear on the tax reports. Each tax system-tax code-exempt tax code combination should contain one tax distribution record.

The fields on the header and General tab are display only. Their values are extracted from the A/P Vouchers and Adjustments form.

The Tax Parameters tab is enabled when the Mexico Localization is licensed and enabled.

You can make several types of distributions, such as purchase amount, freight, and tax. The system sets the fields when you post them from a PO or from the Generate Distribution option for directly entered vouchers.

Because vouchers may contain a mixture of taxable and non-taxable amounts, you may overwrite the standard tax calculation. To do so, update the Amount fields of tax-related G/L Distribution records. These changes are reflected in the tax fields of the voucher header (which you cannot update directly).

This feature enables you to manually enter tax-only debit and credit memos, as well as the tax for mixed invoices.

Note:
  • Because you enter the tax amount on the voucher header, a warning displays if the distributed tax amounts do not match the tax amount on the voucher header. The tax amounts are not automatically updated as in A/R. You must update the detail portion on the Voucher Adjustment Distribution form, if the generated tax amounts do not match what you entered for the voucher header.
  • If the Active for Purchasing check box is selected on the Tax Systems form, the tax fields in the upper part of the Allocation And Tax tab are enabled. If this check box is not selected, none of the tax fields are available.
