Creating Manual Rules

If system default rules could not be generated or are not successful in allowing the data transfer, use the Import Rule Definition form to create additional import rules. Then apply those rules on the Import Table Column Rule Definitionform.

Note:  We strongly recommend that you contact Infor Consulting Services for assistance in creating additional rules and their underlying custom stored procedures.
  1. For system default rules, these fields on the Import Rule Definition form are read-only. For manually created rules, you can specify this information:
    Rule and Rule Description
    Specify the rule number and a description for this rule.
    System Default
    This field is selected if the rule is system-generated.
    Column
    This field is used in the stored procedure to set up the column list, for example, charfld1-5, for the transformation rule.
    Label
    Specify the label string to display in the Import Table Column Rule Definition form. This string is used to display the label in different languages.
  2. Save your changes.
  3. Set values for instances of the new rules, as described in the Applying Import Rules to Table Column Transformations topic.
