The New Product Development (NPD) is a feature that enables you to manage the lifecycle of new items from concept to production within the application. This feature is a combination of Material Status field in the Items form, NPD project codes, and NPD Item Detail forms that together enable structured tracking of design progress, timelines, costs, drawings, prototypes, and approvals for items under development.

This feature improves visibility and control on NPD items, ensuring that these items are not used prematurely in production or sales. This also provides a foundation for measuring NPD using built-in metrics.
