Multi-Site Items

Use this form at the master site of an intranet to maintain a list of all items bought, manufactured, and/or sold across multiple sites. You can view and maintain records only for sites within the same intranet as this master site. This form contains the fields description, unit of measure, and lead times for an item. Finished goods, sub-assemblies, raw materials, tooling, fixtures, and even outside services should have Item records.

When you create a new inventory item, a default warehouse and item stockroom location are created.
Note: You cannot delete the item records on this form.
To maintain items on other sites using this form, the following conditions must be met:
  • You are logged into the master site of the intranet that contains the sites where you are adding or maintaining items.
  • The Multi-Site Items and Site Admin replication categories are replicating between the sites within the intranet.

The item number is referenced throughout the system for various item actions such as ordering, counting, planning, shipping, receiving, and referencing.

You can use the vertical tab menu below Item field to switch tabs on this form.

The Actions menu includes a Multi-Site Copy option that displays a modal Multi-Site Selection form. Use this option to copy the selected item to multiple sites within the same intranet as the master site.

You can perform these actions in the navigation panel:
  • Click these buttons:
    • Item Availability to open the Item Availability form.
    • Multi-Site Bill of Material Builder to open the Multi-Site Bill of Material Builder form.
    • Multi-Site Quantity Move to open the Multi-Site Quantity Move form.
  • View the list of Multi-Site Items.
  • Use the Search field to filter the list by Item, Item Description, or Site.
